ICNS is short for Internet Computer Name Service, it is built on the Internet Computer, aims to be a core component of the future Web3 ecosystem.

Crypto addresses are not human friendly, especially on the Internet Computer, there are principal ids and account ids, one principal id can derive multiple account ids, this is rather unfriendly for general users, it’s a barrier for the Internet Computer to be massively adopted.
